The Pentair Premium UV System is our premier solution, offering a higher-performing amalgam UV lamp that lengthens the UV lamp life to last up to 2 years – that’s a full year longer than standard UV lamps on the market! This system features a UV Intensity Monitor with Cool-Touch Kit, LCD UV Display screen, and state-of-the-art UV sensor technology, resulting in complete confidence in the water throughout your whole home.
Ultraviolet (UV) light is found on the light spectrum just below visible light. Its natural power has germicidal properties, allowing it to be used as a pathogen reduction method that does not require the use of salt or harmful chemicals. For this reason, UV is an ideal solution for homeowners on well water, which typically sees higher levels of bacteria and viruses as a result of environmental impacts. Enter the Pentair Standard UV System. Don’t let its small footprint fool you, this system is certified to be 99.9% effective at reducing waterborne pathogens and uses as little energy as a 25-or 40-watt lightbulb. It features an interactive LCD display, allowing you to view lamp life, intensity status, troubleshooting steps, and more. Other features include:
UV disinfection prevents bacteria, viruses and other pathogens from reproducing by permanently altering the DNA of the microorganisms in a process called thymine dimerization. The microorganisms are inactivated and rendered unable to reproduce or infect. The disinfection process does not affect taste, color, or odor of your water.
Detects changes to Ultra Violet Transmittance (UVT) in the water to ensure the UV is providing the necessary dose needed to inactivate the bacteria. If the dosage falls below 75%, it will trigger the flow of water to the home to stop.
Significantly reduces water temperature and does not waste any water. This feature helps reduce alarms for water “over heating” and triggering the sensor. This is recommended in situations where water is not being used on a regular basis.
Assembly is simplified by the use of an integrated flow restrictor. Includes combo ports for flexibility to connect to either 1 ¼” NPT or 1” FNPT
The display will count down to indicate when the lamp should be replaced. When 30 days remain, the lamp light will show yellow and the alarm will sound giving you time to order your new lamp.

A Cool-Touch system is needed for all UV systems that have UV intensity monitors where water is not in use 24/7. The Cool-Touch will move water through the UV chamber to reduce the temperature of the water. If the water is allowed to get too warm, the UV intensity monitor detects that the UV intensity is too low and sets off an alarm. This Cool-Touch helps to prevent the alarm from going off and keeps the water cool inside the chamber. The UV lamp is always on, so adding a Cool-Touch system is a requirement if water is not always in use.
All you have to do is periodically clean the lamp sleeve and replace your lamp once every 2 years – simple processes you can complete in minutes. For ease of handling, the lamp and protective quartz sleeve are designed as one component. However, they can be replaced separately. No tools are required for maintenance.
We recommend a 5-micron sediment pre-filter to remove dirt and debris. The quality of your water can affect the dosage of UV disinfection the system provides and can cause premature "sleeve fouling," which will require the sleeve to be cleaned more often and may damage the UV sleeve. Pretreatment safeguards against these possibilities
