The Pentair Basic UV System offers an entry into UV water treatment without compromising performance. This salt-free, chemical-free system disinfects your water while using only the amount of energy required for a low-watt light bulb.
Ultraviolet (UV) light is found on the light spectrum just below visible light. Its natural power has germicidal properties, allowing it to be used as a pathogen reduction method that does not require the use of salt or harmful chemicals. For this reason, UV is an ideal solution for homeowners on well water, which typically sees higher levels of bacteria and viruses as a result of environmental impacts. Enter the Pentair Standard UV System. Don’t let its small footprint fool you, this system is certified to be 99.9% effective at reducing waterborne pathogens and uses as little energy as a 25-or 40-watt lightbulb. It features an interactive LCD display, allowing you to view lamp life, intensity status, troubleshooting steps, and more. Other features include:
UV disinfection does not affect taste, color, or odor of your water.
Indicator lights on the system show the status of the system components. Warning lights appear when system maintenance is required.
The safety cap prevents children from accessing the lamp or electrical components. The special lamp plug ensures that no one can power the UV lamp if it is not in the UV chamber.

Systems tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 55 for disinfection performance, Class B
Pentair UV Systems are validated and certified under NSF 55 Class B. Validated models have a flow restrictor installed on the unit that limits the maximum flow, to guarantee a minimum 16 m/J dose @ 70% UVT according to the NSF standard which is acceptable for city water supply disinfection.
UV is not recommended for the disinfection of water with iron or sulfur bacteria. With over 600 different types of iron and sulfur bacteria, and the jelly-like membrane the bacteria have, the UV would not be able to properly penetrate the membrane of the bacteria to disinfect the water. It is recommended you look at a chlorine injection system with retention to kill iron or sulfur bacteria.
A 5 micron sediment prefilter is recommended to reduce dirt and debris. The reason for this pretreatment is the quality of the water can not only affect the dosage of UV disinfection the system provides, it may also cause premature "sleeve fouling" which will require the sleeve to be cleaned more often, and may also damage the UV sleeve.
Recommended Installation: Professional Installation
Indoor installation only.
UV lamp inside the system has an effective life of approximately 9,000 hours. To ensure continuous protection, replace the UV lamp annually.
The Pentair Standard UV Disinfection System is our mid-level UV solution, offering a small footprint while delivering powerful, high-performance protection against waterborne pathogens, bacteria and viruses.
