About 73% of Americans on community water systems1 have access to water with fluoride, an additive to help reduce tooth decay that can affect the taste and overall quality of your tap water. The Pentair Fluoride Water Filter System uses a unique, high-grade calcium-based BoneChar carbon to reduce the fluoride in your water throughout your whole home. And, it comes equipped with a 5 micron prefilter to capture sediment and debris before it ever reaches your tap.
Reduces fluoride in your water down to 1 part per million (ppm) (mg/L)
Designed to manage home water up for up to 6 bathrooms
Treat your water for fluoride while minimizing your environmental water footprint. The Pentair Fluoride Water Filter System uses advanced technology to bring you a non-electric, zero-water waste design. And, unlike standard coconut or charcoal based carbon filters that cannot filter fluoride, this system utilizes a unique BoneChar technology to reduce the fluoride from your water’s every ebb and flow throughout your whole home.

HOW IT WORKS
1. 5 Micron Prefilter System
The prefilter system reduces debris, sand, silt, and sediment in the water supply down to 5 microns in size (20 times smaller than a human hair). The prefilter helps protect plumbing and appliances from excess sediment, increasing their effectiveness. With average use, the prefilter will last approximately 6-9 months before needing to be replaced.
2. BoneChar Adsorption Filtration
The water passes through the BoneChar carbon media, which facilitate the adsorption of fluoride chemicals in the water. This is done through an uplow process, allowing for a swirling motion of the media as water is passed through, which allows maximum contact time and effective filtration process.

Frequently Asked Questions
01. Can fluoride impact my health?
You should choose fluoride whole house filtration based on your aesthetic preferences. Fluoride has been linked to some GI issues and fluorosis, but the standard fluoride levels in drinking water should not cause health problems.
02. Why don’t I need fluoride in my water?
Anyone who brushes their teeth with toothpaste approved by the American Dental Association already gets the recommended daily fluoride amount. Fluoridated water is a practice dating back 70 years. Many countries have discontinued water fluoridation.
03.Why does this system use an upflow design?
Our up-flow systems do not require any special process or instructions for replacing the media. Some down-flow systems don’t allow for the media replacement because the homeowner would need specialized knowledge or tools.
Down-flow systems often have media channeling issues, making them less effective because the water is unable to reach the unexpired media. Channeling occurs when small tunnels form in the media and allow water to flow in the same channel every time. Water always takes the path of least resistance.
We force the water in an upflow direction to enable maximum contact with the carbon media.
Beyond taste and odor, the volatile chemical nature of chlorine means it can react and form potentially harmful byproducts. But, how much chlorine is ‘safe’?
The fluoride level in your tap water can vary, as some utilities do not report measurements. Learn about why Fluoride is added to your water and how you can treat your home water.
